Terms of service.

The terms that apply when you book a service with us. Plain language. No surprises.

Last updated: 28 April 2026 · ABN 72 675 759 707

About these terms.

These terms apply when you book a service with House Call RV — a sole-trader business operating under ABN 72 675 759 707, based in Sydney, NSW. We provide mobile caravan service, repair, and detailing.

By booking a service through our website, by phone, or by email, you agree to these terms. Where we refer to "we," "us," or "House Call RV," we mean the operator of House Call RV. Where we refer to "you" or "the customer," we mean the person booking the service and accepting these terms.

These terms do not exclude or limit any consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which applies regardless of anything in this document.

What we do.

We provide mobile caravan and motorhome services at a location of your choosing within the Sydney metropolitan area, generally within 40km of the Sydney CBD. Services include but aren't limited to:

  • Annual mechanical services and pre-trip safety inspections
  • Brakes, bearings, and running gear repair
  • Detailing — external, internal, upholstery, and bundles
  • Roof reseal and ceiling lining replacement
  • Plumbing, 12V electrical diagnostic and repair
  • Hardware repair and replacement

240V electrical work and gas work are subcontracted to appropriately licensed tradespeople. We coordinate the booking and include their cost in your quote.

Your booking.

When you book a service:

  • You confirm you own the caravan or have the owner's authority to book service on it
  • You confirm the caravan is at the address you've given us, with the access conditions described on our booking page (10A power within 20m, garden tap within 20m, vehicle access within 30m of all four sides of the van)
  • You confirm anyone present at the service location during the visit is aware we're attending and authorised to be there
  • You agree to pay the deposit shown at booking and the balance on completion

Bookings are confirmed only when both your appointment time and your deposit are accepted. You'll receive a confirmation email with the date, time, address, and price.

Pricing, deposits, and payment.

Fixed and tiered prices

Most of our services have fixed prices or fixed prices by van size (tiered). The price you see at booking is the price you pay, provided the work is within the scope listed on the booking page and on our website.

Diagnostic and inspection visits

For some services (Quick Fix, Brakes & Bearings, 12V Diagnostic, Plumbing Repair, Ceiling Inspection), the booking price is a callout that includes a defined amount of labour (usually the first hour). Additional labour and parts are charged transparently on the day at rates published on our booking page, and we agree those costs with you before proceeding.

Deposits

We collect a 20% deposit on most bookings to confirm your slot. Free assessments and small fixed-price visits (Pre-Trip Check, Water Tank Flush, Flyscreen Repair, Ceiling Light Install) require no deposit and are paid in full on completion.

Final payment

The balance is invoiced on completion and is payable within 7 days by:

  • Bank transfer (preferred)
  • Card via the link in your invoice (Stripe)
  • Cash on the day

Late payment beyond 14 days may incur a $25 administrative fee. Persistent non-payment may be referred to a debt recovery service, with reasonable recovery costs added.

GST

All prices on our website and in our quotes include GST.

Cancellation and rescheduling.

We understand life happens. Our policy is built to be fair to both sides:

  • More than 48 hours before your booking — cancellations and reschedules are free of charge. Deposits are fully refunded.
  • Within 48 hours of your booking — your deposit becomes a rebooking credit valid for 90 days. We'll work with you to find a new time that suits you.
  • No-show on the day, or non-arrival of the van at the booked location — the deposit is forfeited. This covers our travel time and the lost slot. Repeated no-shows may result in our declining future bookings.

If you have an unusual situation (medical emergency, family bereavement, etc.) please reach out directly — we apply the policy with judgement, not a calculator.

Cancellations by us.

If we need to cancel or reschedule your booking — for example due to severe weather, illness, mechanical failure of our service vehicle, or another unavoidable issue — we'll give you as much notice as possible and offer:

  • A new appointment at a time that suits you, or
  • A full refund of your deposit, including any deposit on parts already ordered for your job (we keep those parts; you don't pay for them)

What we need from you on the day.

  • Access to the van and the location described in your booking
  • Working 10A power and a garden tap within the distances we've published, unless we've agreed otherwise in advance
  • The van empty of personal belongings for any internal service
  • For internal cleans: fridge cleared and switched off 24 hours before, cupboards cleared
  • For mechanical work: reasonable access to all four sides of the van and the underside if necessary
  • Pets restrained or away during our visit

If we arrive and the conditions for the service can't be met, we'll work with you on the spot to find a solution. If the only solution is to abandon and rebook, we may charge a callout fee equal to your deposit.

Scope of work and "while we're in there" findings.

We do the work you've booked, scoped on our website. If during the work we discover something else that needs attention (a worn bearing during a service, water damage during a roof reseal, a wiring issue during a 12V diagnostic, etc.) we will:

  • Stop and photograph the issue
  • Quote the additional work in writing or verbally with a clear price
  • Wait for your approval before proceeding

You're never charged for additional work without prior agreement. If you decline the additional work, we complete only what was originally booked.

Warranty.

We warrant our workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion. If something we worked on fails because of how we did the work, we'll come back and fix it at no charge. The warranty does not cover:

  • Failures caused by accident, misuse, or further damage
  • Wear and tear of components we replaced (these carry their own manufacturer warranties)
  • Pre-existing issues we identified and quoted but you declined to address
  • Work performed by others on the same van after our visit

Parts we install carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we pass through to you. We'll help you make a claim if needed.

This warranty operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.

Your consumer guarantees.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded:

  • Services will be supplied with due care and skill
  • Services will be reasonably fit for any specified purpose
  • Services will be supplied within a reasonable time

If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you're entitled to remedies under the law, which may include re-supply of the service, compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss, or a refund. Nothing in these terms attempts to limit those rights.

Limits on our liability.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a service we've delivered is limited to the price you paid for that service. We are not liable for:

  • Loss of use of the van during or after our visit
  • Loss of trip or holiday plans
  • Damage to items left in the van that we've asked you to remove
  • Damage caused by undisclosed pre-existing conditions of the van
  • Indirect or consequential losses

This clause does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Photographs.

We photograph your van as part of standard service documentation. Those photos are used for:

  • Sharing relevant photos with you during or after the job where they help explain what we found or what was done
  • Our internal records and quote justification
  • Warranty and dispute documentation

We do not publish your photos publicly, on social media, or in marketing materials without your written consent. If you'd like to give consent for promotional use, we'll always ask separately.

Insurance.

We carry public liability insurance to $20 million, plus tools-and-stock insurance covering equipment and parts in our service vehicle.

Disputes.

If you have a problem, please contact us first — most issues resolve quickly with a direct conversation. Email housecallrv@gmail.com or call 0412 616 838.

If we can't resolve a dispute directly, you can escalate to:

  • NSW Fair Trading — for general consumer disputes — fairtrading.nsw.gov.au or 13 32 20
  • NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) — for binding determinations

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Updates to these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your booking are the version live on our website at the time you confirmed your booking. Material changes will be communicated to active customers by email.
